Built for Extreme Environments

GARAFLEX TPE compounds excel in indoor and outdoor applications where cables face harsh conditions:

  • Indoor: GARAFLEX TPE compounds can withstand extreme temperature fluctuations, industrial fluids and constant flexing in moving systems like C-track assemblies, robotic equipment and industrial automation systems.

​

  • Outdoor: These compounds offer exceptional performance across extreme temperature ranges (-50° to 105°C), with outstanding weather, UV and ozone resistance. Specialized grades offer mud resistance for drilling applications and oil field environments.

Other technical advantages include:

  • Exceptional flame-retardant properties while maintaining high tensile strength, with UL 1581, UL 1685 and FT-4 compliant grades available.

  • Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) values up to 39%.

  • Excellent low temperature performance, with brittle points as low as -100°C.

  • Oil resistance, including grades with Oil Resistance I and II.

  • Heat deformation resistance and ability to maintain properties under thermal stress.

Processing Advantages

GARAFLEX TPE compounds offer the benefits of thermoplastics — including the ability to displace thermoset materials while providing recyclability advantages. Manufacturers can process them using conventional PVC equipment, delivering improved processing speeds compared to thermoset alternatives while being more cost-effective than traditional thermoset materials.

Professional Appearance

GARAFLEX TPE compounds feature a rubber-like aesthetic with customizable matte to glossy finish options. Dull and matte options reduce unwanted light reflection and are ideal for applications where appearance matters — such as stage lighting and audio cables.

GARAFLEX E: Thermoplastic Vinyl Elastomer

This family offers excellent mechanical strength with high flame retardancy and is designed for demanding applications requiring oil and UV resistance. GARAFLEX E compounds provide superior durability in outdoor environments while maintaining excellent flexibility.

  • Applications: flexible cords, booster cables, tray cables, welding cables, audio cables, EV charging, agriculture AI, industrial ethernet, energy storage and wind turbines.

GARAFLEX V: Thermoplastic Elastomer Vulcanizate

These compounds deliver outstanding low-temperature performance and excellent mechanical properties. They are well-suited for applications requiring consistent performance across extreme temperatures.

  • Applications: flexible cords, welding cables, pump cables, SEO insulation and SAE/automotive applications.

GARAFLEX O: Thermoplastic Elastomer Olefin

This family provides superior electrical performance and is the preferred choice for applications requiring excellent insulation properties. These compounds are effective in wet locations and heat-tracing systems.

  • Applications: Flat ribbon cables, flexible cords, appliance wires, heat-tracing cables and sump pump applications.

GARAFLEX G: Styrenic-Based Elastomer

These compounds offer exceptional low-temperature flexibility with excellent mechanical strength. GARAFLEX G provides reliable performance in applications requiring constant flexing and movement.

  • Applications: flexible sheathing, flexible cords, SEO and SJEO, appliance wires and coil cords for scissor lifts.
