BOSTON, 14 October 2025 – Orbia Advance Corporation S.A.B. de C.V. (BMV: ORBIA*) Polymer Solutions’ business group Alphagary, a leading global supplier of specialty compounds and additives, announced today that it has invested to significantly expand its operations in Pineville, NC (USA). The company is installing a new production line that will process flame retardant compounds for cables used for data, voice, and video transmission. This expansion will add 12,000 tons of capacity per year to the site and provide local customers with a logistical advantage and improved delivery service. The expansion project is underway, and a ramp-up process started in September 2025. The line will be fully operational by January 2026.

Driven by a strong commitment to workplace safety, the company has equipped its new production line with state-of-the-art safety features. These safety enhancements minimize risks to Alphagary production workers and promote a modern and protected working environment. "Investing in safety is just as important as expanding our production capacity," said Rick Correia, Global Operations Director. "By prioritizing employee well-being, we are building the foundation for greater efficiency and higher productivity."
Alphagary continues to see high demand for its flame-retardant products driven by the exponential increase in AI (artificial intelligence) computing and the growing need for networks and data centers. “As demand for our products continues to grow, customers count on us to respond quickly”, said Santiago Urbina, VP Commercial. “This investment helps us grow alongside our customers, giving us the agility to adapt to customer requirements without compromise."
Beyond a strong focus on safety, Orbia Alphagary remains committed to its achievement of zero waste to landfill—and this capacity expansion is no exception. By emphasizing energy efficiency and waste reduction, the company continues to uphold its zero-waste-to-landfill commitment across all manufacturing facilities, reinforcing its dedication to sustainability while driving growth.
