ALPHAMED
®
ALPHAMED vinyl compounds for healthcare applications.
ALPHAMED vinyl (PVC) compounds are designed for optimal performance and manufactured to provide the consistency that is so critical for medical devices, fluid management, and other healthcare applications.
ALPHAMED is a registered trademark
The ALPHAMED PVC compound series is formulated with FDA-sanctioned ingredients.
ALPHAMED PVC compounds, formulated with FDA-sanctioned ingredients, are available in both flexible and rigid formulations, supporting:

-
Tubing (peristaltic, IV, urological,, etc.)
-
IV Bags, thin films and other extruded applications
-
Connectors, luers, fittings, and other molded applications
-
Cushions, mask parts, cannulas, and other soft‑touch applications

ALPHAMED compounds give manufacturers precise control over clarity, flexibility, kink-resistance, radiation stability, impact performance, and melt flow.

Flexible Extrusion Grades: 50A to 95A
Flexible Molding Grades: 50A to 95A
Semi-Rigid to full Rigid Extrusion & Molding grades

Certain ALPHAMED grades are formulated without phthalates.
With terminology like non‑phthalate, DEHP‑free, and phthalate‑free often used inconsistently across the market, Alphagary takes a direct, unambiguous approach: we specify compounds as not intentionally formulated with restricted phthalates according to current REACH, RoHS, Prop 65, Toy Industry, and EU MDR lists.

This clarity empowers medical device manufacturers to meet customer expectations and satisfy internal and external reporting requirements.
ALPHAMED compounds can be customized to customer requirements.
One of Alphagary’s greatest strengths is the ability to collaborate closely with customers to create application‑specific formulations. Whether subtle adjustments or a fully engineered solution, we can optimize for:

-
Tint levels – water‑clear to multiple blue‑tint options or opaque finishes
-
Radiopacity – including barium‑ and bismuth‑filled grades
-
Surface finish – high‑clarity or frosted
-
Sterilization compatibility – EtO, autoclave, gamma, or e‑beam stability
-
Migration resistance – Lipid resistance or low‑taste/low‑odor profiles
-
Flow rate and moldability – for complex injection‑molded parts

Because every development project is different, Alphagary’s technical and R&D teams remain involved from material selection through commercialization—ensuring consistency, lot‑to‑lot quality, and long‑term support.
ALPHAMED compounds are tested to USP Class VI Biocompatibility standards.
To streamline risk evaluation and device approval process, Alphagary provides test results conducted on ALPHAMED compounds to USP Class VI Biocompatibility standards.
Certain grades have been tested to Cytotoxicity standards and others have received ISO 10993 evaluation.

Confidence, clarity, and customization for today's medical devices.
For more than half a century, Alphagary has supported medical device manufacturers with PVC materials engineered for reliability, performance, and regulatory clarity.
Today, the ALPHAMED® portfolio continues that legacy—providing extrusion and molding‑grade PVC compounds across a wide hardness range, designed for applications from flexible tubing to rigid connectors.

In an industry where compliance, consistency, and customization are essential, ALPHAMED compounds offer a clear advantage: technical transparency paired with the flexibility to tailor materials to your device, manufacturing process, and regulatory pathway.
