GCPE series overview

CPE based compounds with superior environmental resistance for indoor and outdoor wire and cable applications, both copper and fiber optic.

GCPE compounds are modified CPE (chlorinated polyethylene) polymers, specially formulated for wires and cables that demand uncompromising reliability in demanding indoor and outdoor applications. They offer an exceptional balance of properties, including environmental durability, flame resistance and low-temperature performance, and support the integration of Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in emerging applications, such as agriculture.

Robust Performance

GCPE compounds are designed to handle changing weather conditions while maintaining data integrity — even in constant motion. This robustness is critical for applications such as MV power cable jackets and ethernet jackets – for example, real-time data transmission for Precision Farming -- where environmental conditions can vary.

With temperature ratings up to 105°C and brittle points as low as -50°C, GCPE compounds deliver reliable flexibility and strength across extreme temperature ranges. Select grades are engineered to meet low-temperature impact performance down to -40°C, ensuring durability in harsh, cold environments. Designed for outdoor use, these compounds resist sunlight and oil (Type I & II), providing long-term protection for wire and cable in agricultural equipment, industrial machinery, outdoor power distribution, and deployable cable systems.

Flame Retardancy

A key feature of the GCPE series is its flame retardancy. The modified CPE polymer used in these compounds provides an exceptional balance of flame retardancy and temperature resistance, making the material suitable to pass the UL 1685 flame test, depending on cable design. With Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) values of 35% / 36%, GCPE compounds demonstrate self-extinguishing characteristics that enhance safety in fire-critical applications.

Rubber-Like Feel and Easy to Process

GCPE compounds combine the processing ease of thermoplastics with the rubber-like feel manufacturers value. Unlike traditional rubber, these thermoplastic compounds run on conventional extruders and standard machinery—streamlining production without sacrificing performance. Their flexibility and tactile quality make them a versatile choice for applications where durability and comfort matter. Available in hardness ratings from 72A to 87A, GCPE grades can be tailored to meet specific design and performance requirements.

Key Benefits of the GCPE Series

  • Rugged Performance:  GCPE compounds are engineered for rugged performance in demanding environments. Their formulation delivers exceptional durability, flame resistance, and oil resistance—qualities typically associated with premium polymer systems. Designed to maintain integrity under tough conditions, GCPE ensures long-lasting reliability and consistent results, making it a trusted choice for applications where strength and resilience matter most.

  • Accelerated Rollout: The flexibility and ruggedness of these compounds make them ideal for applications that demand rapid, repeated setup—such as portable stage lighting cables and drone control systems. Their ability to be rolled out and retrieved multiple times without degradation ensures reliable performance in dynamic, mobile environments.

  • Engineered for Motion and Weather:  GCPE compounds are engineered to withstand changing weather conditions while safeguarding data integrity—even in applications that demand constant motion. Their rugged formulation resists environmental stressors such as temperature fluctuations, moisture, and UV exposure, ensuring reliable signal performance. Whether cables are in motion or exposed to harsh outdoor environments, GCPE delivers consistent protection and durability, making it the ideal choice for dynamic, weather-sensitive applications.
