Today’s European fire safety standards are rigorous, especially for data and telecommunications cables installed in complex environments such as hospitals, airports, and high-rise buildings.   Data center and large workstation cables in these networked spaces must achieve the B2ca classification of the Construction Products Regulation (CPR) euro-classification.

MEGOLON low smoke, halogen-free (LSHF / HFFR) sheathing compounds designed for use in CAT 6/6A data cables are formulated to achieve CPR cable test classification B2ca without negatively impacting the expected signal capabilities of the cable.   These compounds provide cable designers with the ability to achieve the rigorous B2ca classification while retaining the same cable design and transmission capabilities.

Please note: Since testing is conducted on the cable, not the compound, material selection is dependent on the entire cable design.
